I saw a shooting star
in-between the obsession of the streetlights,
and I changed the wish that I wish
for the first time in my whole life,
where my moments are ground to powder,
into edible flowers and fired shells,
the stigmata of my secrets
I have to whisper when I tell.
I wished for you,
for you, I wished
for you.
I saw a shooting star
like lightning pulled through a needle
teetering in the criss crossed winds,
reflections reversed in the mirrored soul.
And the light wept down midnight’s cheek.
Sadness and joy were vague as a mist,
like my spirit when the rose lens cracked.
Down the street the mercurial cars hissed.
I wished for you,
for you, I wished
for you.
I saw a shooting star
like a streak up heaven’s stocking
beyond the combs and brushed of trees,
the keys for doors that need no locking.
I climbed down from the flower of me
to stand where that of you was growing
and drained that luminous and vicious tear
to where all of your seeds were sewing.
