lyrics

ALASKA

Sleeping oak Savanna
there where nothing green can grow,
but me, blue moon Alaska
melting mauve, flowering snow.
And sleep, it's worth its weight in gold.

The birds snooze on my shoulders,
and the mice live in my shoes.
The moss drowns in my mouth,
like a flower in the ruins,
like a bed of better news.

Of all the birds I could have found,
emptied from a nest, pinning down the ground.

Oak Savanna sleeping,
saws are singing in the trees.
Islands of my eyelids,
throw a stone and sink the sea.

Of all the birds I could have found.
Of all the birds I could have found.
