20070219 - A Heart A Spade

lyrics

A HEART A SPADE

Shingles of shore,
an island drowns,
stories don't just end.

A mish mash of friends,
a bouquet of blocks,
and more bends around the bend.

My pen for a wife.
My life for an art.
Wears down my highs reading
what I should know now by heart.

You cannot sing what a word can't explain,
they come as close as a heart to a spade.
These days I am home when I have no place to stay.

Light behind light,
the city at night,
training to be wild.

Idiot cloud,
mountains and crowns,
wear out my mouth full of
love I know nothing about.

You cannot say what a song can't explain,
it comes as close as a heart to a spade.
Now I am home when I have no place to stay.

Memory is a lady in waiting.
That means memory is a woman,
and time is a stubborn old man.
